Threads of History: Exploring Culture and Faith includes the Brevard Interfaith Speaker Series and the Explorations on Jewish History and Culture series. There are currently 2 lectures scheduled for 2026, as follows:
February 15 at 3:30 p.m: “Beyond the Rainbow Bridge: Animals as Religious Subjects in Christianity and Buddhism” with Dr. Barbara Ambros, Professor & Chair of the Department of Religious Studies, UNC Chapel Hill. NOTE: This location for this lecture has been moved to the Unitarian Universalists of Transylvania County at 74 Varsity Drive, Brevard.
May - date & location TBD: “Jews and Booze: Becoming American in the Age of Prohibition” with Dr. Marni Davis, co-Editor-in-Chief of American Jewish History magazine
